HOT STONES MASSAGE

Recommended for: Everyone!

60 minutes

Hot stone massage has the benefits of a sports or deep tissue massage, thanks to the penetration of heat, but is more relaxing as less direct pressure is applied. The treatment combines massage with the use of smooth, heated volcanic basalt stones, which are rich in iron and penetrate the muscles further.

Heat on the body increases blood supply to your organs, increases metabolism, helps your heart pump more efficiently and stimulates your body’s cells to remove toxins quicker and more effectively.

Massages are always tailored to the needs of each person, and it may be that a hot stone massage also brings in cold stones. These are made of marble, which is chilled and can be used to help with toning – they’re also lovely on your face if you are stressed or headachey or have tired eyes, or they can be used to reduce inflammation and help muscular injury.

Finally, parts of a thermal stone massage might use both hot and cold stones simultaneously. This causes the blood vessels to continuously constrict and dilate, which results in increased flushing rates of toxins and optimum healing – if you’ve had a sports injury, it’s the same principle as hot and cold therapy, with the added benefit of massage on top.

Choice of music. Pillows and eye masks available. Dissolve muscle tension, release knots, increase circulation and lymphatic drainage, stimulate the release of toxins.
