If you run, hike or walk regularly, you’ll be all too aware of the knots in your calves, the tightness in your hips and the niggling twinge in your kneecaps.
While a lot of the issues are down to your biomechanics (how your body moves) and you should really aim to work the whole kinetic chain down from your head to your toes, that’s a longer-term fix to a problem you want addressed now.
The runners relief treatment is a massage for runners, walker and hikers that focuses on the lower part of your body, from the hips down. You’ll be treated to a deeper pressure massage, with targeted stretches to loosen off any tightness and encoourage your body to move more freely. Your calves and knees will be flushed (don’t worry, it’s not painful) to rid any lactic acid build up and finally, your feet will be treated to some deeper, reflexology-inspired movements that they’re bound to appreciate.
